​​​How the Mimosa pudica (Touch-me-Not) leaves close when touched?

When touched, this sensitive leaf reacts to the stimulus as there is higher pressure at that point and the water in the vacuoles of the cells of the leaf loses water to the adjacent cell. All the water escapes the leaf (via the pulvinus) which then becomes flaccid.

An auxanometer is an apparatus for measuring increase or rate of growth in plants.  In case of an arc-auxanometer, there is a wire fixed with the plant apex on one end and a dead-weight on the other. It passes over a pulley which has a pointer attached to it.   When the plant's height increases, the pulley rotates and the pointer moves on a circular scale to directly give the magnitude of growth. A Musical Fountain, also known as a dancing fountain, is a type of animated fountain for entertainment purposes that creates an aesthetic design (including three-dimensional images). LIDAR stands for Light Detection and Ranging and is very similar to the better known Radar. Basically, a laser pulse is sent out of a transmitter and the light particles (photons) are scattered back to the receiver. Lidar is a method for measuring distances by illuminating the target with laser light and measuring the reflection with a sensor. Differences in laser return times and wavelengths can then be used to make digital 3-D representations of the target. It has terrestrial, airborne, and mobile applications.
